The rules that keep your funds safe — and the scams to watch out for.
Trustfy's smart contracts remove a lot of the trust problem — but a handful of simple habits protect the rest. Almost every crypto loss traces back to one of the mistakes on this page, not to a flaw in the platform itself.

The one rule that matters most#
Never release USDT before confirming payment yourself
Never share your seed phrase or private key#
Covered in depth in Wallet Setup, but it bears repeating: Trustfy will never ask for it, under any circumstance. Anyone who does is impersonating Trustfy.
Double-check what you're approving#
On Trustfy, you never manually paste a wallet address to trade — the smart contract handles that automatically. Before signing anything your wallet shows you, read what it says it will do. If a prompt looks unfamiliar or unrelated to the action you just took, reject it and investigate before approving.
Common scam patterns to recognize#
- Pressure to move fast — "I need this released right now" or "my payment app is glitching, just trust me." Genuine counterparties don't need you to skip your own verification.
- Requests to communicate or pay outside the Trustfy chat — this removes the record an arbitrator could later review.
- A brand-new account with no trade history offering a rate noticeably better than everyone else.
- A link sent mid-trade asking you to "verify your wallet" somewhere else — Trustfy never requires this.
- A payment screenshot with inconsistent fonts, misaligned numbers, or details that don't quite match the claimed bank's usual format.
Use reputation before you commit#
Every trader's profile shows their completed trade count and rating. For larger trades especially, favor counterparties with an established, positive history — and treat a total newcomer offering an unusually good deal with extra caution.
If you think you've been scammed#
- Do not release any additional funds.
- Open a dispute immediately if the trade is still active — see Disputes.
- Save every message and screenshot as evidence.
- If your seed phrase was compromised, move any remaining funds to a brand-new wallet immediately — the compromised wallet can never be made safe again.
Is my money safe just sitting in my wallet? As safe as your seed phrase's storage — nobody can touch funds in your wallet without it.
Can Trustfy reverse a transaction if I get scammed? No on-chain transaction can be reversed by anyone, including Trustfy — this is exactly why the verification habits on this page matter so much.
Is it safe to use public Wi-Fi to trade? Reasonably, since your wallet signs transactions locally and never transmits your keys — but using a trusted connection is still good general practice.
